This is a sobering stat as we hit the peak of motorcycle riding season across North America: In 2015, 4,976 people died in motorcycle crashes, up 8.3 percent from 4,594 in 2014, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report. And while we fully realize there are a number of factors in play on that statistic, we do know that there is one way motorcyclists can help themselves be seen by other motorists.
Use our Brilliant Reflective Stick-On Strips on their gear. Be more visible.
Insurance companies have been beating the reflective drum for years, routinely suggesting that motorcycle riders consider wearing bright or reflective clothing when riding to make them stand out. Our strips make it easy (and inexpensive). The DIY strips are made with the highest grade 3M™ Scotchlite™ Reflective Material and they are colorized so the strips blend in with your favorite gear.
Our co-worker, Alex, drives a 1987 BMW K75S, and the day a care package full of Brilliant Reflective Strips showed up he nabbed some. First thing he did? Adorned his Shoei Neotech Helmet with one (see the picture).
“Pretend like everyone is trying to kill you – sage advice from a friend when I first started riding,” said Alex. “I couldn't believe that people would intentionally kill you if they actually saw you so I set out to make myself, and the bike, more visible with some reflective tape I found in the office. Nobody’s killed me yet, or tried to my knowledge, so I think Brilliant Reflective is to thank!”
Motorcycle riders like their fashion. With color options of black, red, blue and purple, our reflective strips can blend in tastefully on a wide array of bikes or helmets.
